My name is Shaylee*, and I am in ninth grade and attend Pathways Middle College. I have lived at Baptist Children’s Home, Oklahoma City for three years. I enjoy basketball, volleyball and track, and I love to sing. I also take vocal lessons! Some of my favorite things to do on campus are bible study with Clara and attend Monday night class! They have fun events here all the time, and I miss being at the after-school program now that I am older. I love living with my family in our own apartment on campus. It’s so nice! I love looking at the fun items in the on-campus boutique. I am proud of myself for being more at peace in who I am and who God has created me to be. God has changed my desires and what I focus on. Recently in my bible study, I learned that though God calls us to spread His word, He doesn’t get mad at us or get disappointed in us. Looking back on my years living here, there are times when I have messed up and have not done the right thing, and He has forgiven me every time. I am thankful for His forgiveness.
