My name is Misael, and I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico but was raised in Beaver, Oklahoma, located in the Oklahoma panhandle. My parents’ names are Ausencio and Isabel, and my only brother’s name is Omar.

I lived at Boys Ranch Town (BRT) from August 2022 until May 2025. I came to BRT because I did not have a living arrangement to be able to attend school at Francis Tuttle Technology Center. Ultimately, BRT became a home where I was able to attend school and work while I lived in the College and Career apartments.

The biggest adjustment to life on campus was not having my parents with me. However, I enjoyed everything BRT had to offer. Events such as the rodeo, style show, and any extra classes that were offered on campus were extremely enjoyable. They helped me have something to look forward to in my day-to-day life. On top of that, I felt like I was out in the panhandle again even though the city was just a few miles away.

Some hobbies of mine include running, playing games, or enjoying my time at Arcadia Lake. At BRT, I really enjoyed cooking in my own space and just having somewhere I could call my own home for a short period of time.

God has been working in my life day-in and day-out. We are to seek the kingdom of God before we seek anything else. He is to be the number one focus in life, and the earthly things in our life will be added to us; not replace God but compliment what He has planned in our life.

Before BRT, I did not know how to cook, do laundry, financially support myself, and the list goes on and on. Living at BRT was the first real time that I lived on my own and had to take care of myself. This is where I went from being a kid to being a man.

Now that I have graduated from Francis Tuttle Technology Center, have been recently married and have moved away from BRT, my plans include getting my wife through the respiratory program at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, saving for a house, and building our own family.

Prayer Requests

Please pray I gain the discipline to have a daily Bible study with my wife Acacia. Please pray for my legal citizenship process to go smoothly and quickly. Pray also that schooling and finances will work out so we can have a house before our 30’s.
