Hi, my name is Aiden*. I am 15 years old and live at Boys Ranch Town (BRT).

I moved to BRT around August 2024, because my adopted parents and school counselor thought it would be good for me to come here. They asked me if I wanted to come here, and I said yes. I was adopted by my aunt and uncle (adoptive parents) when I was eight years old.

At BRT, I usually get up at 6:30 a.m. and then go to the barn at 7:30 a.m. to get the heifers harnessed and ready for the day. After that, I do school on campus and then dinner, evening chores and homework.

I like that here I do not have to ride a bus to school, and I get to stay on campus throughout the day. It is nice to have school, activities and hobbies where I live. Recently, I have had to adjust to my houseparents leaving and then me moving to a new cottage. I like my new houseparents, but I do miss my old houseparents.

Some of my favorite hobbies are hanging out with my houseparents, being involved in show program on campus, playing football with the other boys at BRT, and listening to music. I probably will go to college, but if I do not, I want to get a job in auto mechanics.

I enjoy Bible study with my cottage. We have been reading 1 Samuel lately, and I have learned how we should give mercy and forgiveness to our enemies – just like how David forgave Saul. That lesson has really stuck with me.

During my time at BRT, I have learned we are all family here, and everyone cares about you and is kind. I really like that. BRT has helped me become a good leader and a respectful young man. I hope to take what I have learned here into my adult life.
