Ladies, we would like to invite you to join us as a member of Women of Compassion 2023. Membership is $1,000, which qualifies you to vote for the grant recipients at the 2023 Cups of Kindness event on Saturday, April 1 in Oklahoma City. Please note that attending the annual event is not a requirement for being a Woman of Compassion.

Vearl Tolbert - Saxophonist

With nearly 30 years of experience as a musician, Vearl Tolbert has dedicated his life to his love for smooth jazz, R&B, neo-soul, blues, pop and gospel music. Not only is he renowned for his alto and soprano saxophone abilities, but he is proficient on the electronic wind instrument.

A natural prodigy, Mr. Tolbert has been creating music from as early as two years old. Raised by his father, a musician in his own right, he was always eager to emulate his father’s example. After receiving his first clarinet at age 11, he quickly mastered the instrument. Two years later, he played his first saxophone and has been excelling ever since. From growing up in the church to playing in various jazz ensembles, Mr. Tolbert has had many opportunities to perform and master his craft.

Dedicated to his artistic process, Mr. Tolbert has released two music projects, the EP “V Groove” in 2016 and the LP “Still Groovin’” in 2021. He is proud that his music has been played in multiple countries and on radio stations around the world.
