Women of Compassion
Women of Compassion enables generous, community-minded women from across Oklahoma to be part of gifts that are collectively larger than most can afford to contribute individually. Members meet with other women once a year for a fantastic women’s event, where they have a voice to determine how the yearly contributions are spent.
Women of Compassion is open to women of all ages and denominations who want to make a difference in the lives of children.
If you….
- Care about the well-being of children – emotionally, physically and spiritually, both the born and unborn.
- Are generous with your time and resources to help the community around you.
- Are passionate about your love for your family and friends.
- Enjoy being around other women with similar views and concerns.
- See a problem and you want to find a solution.
Women of Compassion is wanting you to be a part in carrying out the mission of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children as we demonstrate God’s love by providing hope to children and their families while leading them to be followers of Christ. It is open to women of all ages and denominations who want to make a difference in the lives of children.
Throughout its history, Women of Compassion has provided grants for
- Baptist Children’s Home, Oklahoma City – Six storm shelters and a security system for the campus.
- Boys Ranch Town, Edmond – A van, mattresses, washers and dryers, and new computers and cabling.
- Baptist Children’s Home, Owasso – A 3,256-foot two-railed metal fence, a 330-foot sidewalk, repairs to a 500-foot road and the campus walking trail, a new riding lawn mower, and remodeling and renovations to White City cottage and Bradshaw transitional living apartments.
- Baptist Homes for Girls, Madill – Remodeling and renovating an older residential care cottage.
- Hope Pregnancy Centers – Advertising and updates to their website, Trophon technology equipment, life-like newborn baby models, Bibles and Empowered Parenting resources.
Thanks to Women of Compassion members, every ministry of OBHC has been touched by your gracious gifts, allowing you to make an impact in the lives of children and families.
Annual Event
Members meet with other women from across the state annually, where they will be inspired by national speakers and hear from prospective grant recipients to cast their vote. Your vote, your voice, helps determine how the yearly contributions are spent. Absentee ballots will be made available for members unable to attend the event.
Women of Compassion enables you to be part of gifts that are collectively larger than most women can afford to contribute individually. Each donation for membership is due by the day of the annual forum.

Women of Compassion’s goal is to reach at least 100 members each year. By reaching our goal of 100 members, we will be capable of awarding a $50,000 grant to one prospective recipient and the remaining $50,000 will provide much needed operating costs to the remaining participants. If more than 100 members are reached, subsequent grants will be awarded in 50,000 increments to the remaining runner-up submissions.
