Fallon’s Story

My name is Fallon*. I am a single mom of four children age 11, 10, 9 and 7. I work full time and go to school full time pursuing nursing. My story has been far from perfect, but I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. I have struggled with domestic violence, drug abuse, losing custody of my children, and health challenges followed by a lot of personal growth. Every part of my story has shaped who I am today. My faith has become the foundation that holds everything together.

I came to The Vine in October 2023. After surviving domestic violence and substance abuse for several years, I finally was able to escape. My cousin allowed me and three of my children to come live with her in Oklahoma City, which in turn led to her seeing a news article of a previous mom here at The Vine. I applied, and within a few weeks, we were moving in! I am happy to say that after five years of being separated, my fourth child moved in with us in March 2025!

I came to The Vine during a time when I needed stability, support, and a fresh start for myself and my children. I wanted a safe, structured environment where I could focus on healing, growing, and building a better future. The Vine gave me that opportunity.

The biggest adjustment was learning to live in a community with other women. I was used to handling everything on my own. Being surrounded by other women and families, sharing space, routines, and accountability was rough, but it stretched me in a good way. It taught me I do not have to do life alone. I love the sense of support and safety. There is comfort in knowing you are surrounded by people who genuinely care about your growth and your children’s well-being. I also appreciate the structure. It has helped me stay focused on my goals.

I “phased up” in November 2025, so my children and I get to live independently in our 3-bedroom duplex. It has been so amazing! It gave me that sense of independence that I think I needed to remember my overall goal — to buy a home for my children and me.

I am proud of myself because I did not quit. Even when life felt overwhelming — working full time, going to school full time, raising four children — I kept going. I am proud that I chose growth instead of staying stuck. My goal is to complete nursing school and continue growing professionally in healthcare. I want to provide stability for my children and eventually use my story to encourage others who are also starting over. I want my life to reflect redemption and resilience.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for strength and endurance as I balance work, school and motherhood. Pray for continued spiritual growth and deeper trust in God. Pray for my children to continue to feel safe, confident and loved.
