Bill and Judy CraftJudy and Bill Craft

Bill and Judy Craft have been members of First Baptist Church, Ardmore, since 1997. Judy serves as the hostess for the church and can be found on any given day in the kitchen preparing a meal for a few or a few hundred. Judy served a four-year term on OBHC’s Board of Trustees and is currently serving as an advisor.

Bill and Judy have been an important part of the girls’ lives and the accomplishments at the Baptist Home for Girls in Madill for the past six years, and they make it a point to be involved in a variety of ways to support the girls by attending as many activities as possible. During the Christmas holidays, the Craft’s invite the community to tour their home as a fundraiser for the campus.

Judy felt called to be the cook for the Baptist Home for Girls’ Style Show some years ago after speaking with former OBHC Development Representative, Gayle Buck, about helping with the annual event. Judy began preparing food for the style show, and Bill was very supportive from the beginning. Bill began volunteering and has helped Judy serve through the years. Judy said they began volunteering to help in this capacity because there was a desire deep in her heart to make a difference in a young girl’s life. She said, “Getting to work for these girls is a rewarding experience.” Judy uses her cooking skills as a tool to talk about Jesus and what He has done in her life.

They continue to be major contributors to the overall ministry of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. Their involvement, giving history, and their love for children certainly qualify them for membership in the Gladys Smith Society.  05-12-06
