Oklahoma City & Boys Ranch Town - Back-to-School Dinner Event - August 4, 2018

About This Year's Event

A note from Shonda...

At times, our lives feel like a circus – busy, chaotic and sometimes filled with tense and scary moments. During these times, we want to be strong and courageous, but many times we just feel weak and afraid. However, Jesus Christ encourages and empowers us to have faith instead of fear. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Our theme, Walking as Lions, is a reminder that through our faith in Christ, we are given the strength and confidence to stand and be bold as a lion.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to live by faith and not by sight. We are to live a life that demonstrates how valuable the Gospel is and show the effect Christ has on those who believe in Him. As the children in our care grow, we want them to be able to experience this same freedom and confidence.

The Back-to-School Dinner Event is one way you can show God’s love and faithfulness to the children in our care. Your continual love and support for the children allows them to experience a life where they are no longer slaves to fear, giving them the ability to walk courageous and unafraid. We hope that God continues to work in the children’s lives so they can rise up and walk as lions for the sake of the Gospel.

Remember, “If we are going to walk – we walk as lions.”
