My name is Morgan. I have two brothers, one older and one younger. I grew up in a difficult situation. A lot of the time we did not have utilities and lived in run-down places. That never bothered me until I began to be treated poorly by my parents. It got to the point where I decided I was not going to put up with it anymore.

I moved to Baptist Home for Girls (BHG) about three years ago, because my parents decided to put me here. My biggest adjustment was getting used to the way of life at BHG. It was very different from what I experienced at home. There was a lot more structure. I had to wake up pretty early to be ready for breakfast at 6 a.m. That meant I got up around 5-5:20 a.m. Around 7 a.m., we would go to school and come back in the afternoon for a snack. Afterwards, we would do schoolwork or ag program, hang out and then eat dinner. Bedtime was around 9 p.m. for me. Even though it took a while to adapt to the schedule, it is not as strict as it seems once you get used to it. I really appreciate how there is such a large support system here that will help you get through adjusting to life at BHG.

Some of my favorite activities include spending time with friends and family. I also like to do things related to agriculture, workout, garden, cook and read.

My favorite memory at BHG would have to be going on the Canada trip. It was fun to meet friends of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC) and travel with other children and their families from all across OBHC.

I became a Christian during my time at BHG and was baptized at Little City Baptist Church. I am proud of who God has shaped me to be. All the things that I have been through were used for good. I believe that I am strong and capable of anything as long as the Lord walks with me.

In the fall, I plan to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University for computer science and will live at BHG as part of the College and Career program. My dream is to live in the country and also have cattle.

Since I have moved to BHG, the biggest difference in my life is Jesus. Without Him, there was a lot of negativity in my life that I thought was normal. Now, I experience much more joy and fulfillment.
