Tulsa Pregnancy Center Relocates

First printed in the March 2004 Legacy

February 19 was the closing date on a new permanent home for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Tulsa. The property, located at 13012 East 21st Street is now being renonovated and should be ready for occupancy by fall.

Over the past year, the Crisis Pregnancy Center has experienced growth in the number of clients seen each day. Last year, the Tulsa CPC ministered to 1,466 clients, which to our knowledge is more than any other CPC in Oklahoma. The Center received 2,752 calls for assistance. Last year, 180 clients received ultrasounds with 90% choosing life. Forty-eight clients received Christ in 2003.

With approximately 5,000 square feet at the new location, the CPC will have much more room to minister to women and men. Their present facility, which is rented, is inadequate for the number of clients served and has a lack of storage space. Counseling rooms are presently doubling as video rooms, therefore there is less opportunity to counsel the clients.

Through the Hope Program at the CPC, clients can earn coupons by watching educational videos. The coupons are then redeemable for baby clothers, food/formula, diapers, furniture, and maternity clothes.

"I am excited to see what the Lord is doing and thrilled with this demonstration of Oklahoma Baptists' love for unborn children," said Candy Hines, State Director, Crisis Pregnancy Ministries.
