Tulsa Pregnancy Center Dedicates New Location

First printed in the March 2004 - Care & Share

Volunteers, donors, clients, and friends of Tulsa's Hope Pregnancy Center gathered at the Center's new location on October, 3, 2004 to celebrate and dedicate the new facility with approxinately 5,000 square feet at the new location, 13012 East 21st Street, the HPC will have much more room to minister to women and men. Founded in 1986, the Center also celebrated a name change earlier this year, from Crisis Pregnancy Center to Hope Pregnancy Center. The name change follows a nationwide trend among pregnancy centers to remove the word "crisis" from their names. Market research found that names that did not include the word "crisis" had more appeal among both pro-choice and pro-life women looking for help.

Last year, the pregnancy center ministered to 1,466 clients, which is believed to be more than any other pregnancy center in Oklahoma. The Center received 2,752 calls for assistance. Last year 180 clients received ultrasounds with 90% choosing life for their babies.

Charles Cruce, Director of Missions for the Tulsa-Metro Baptist Association delivered the dedication message. 400 balloons were released following the dedication service to sybolize the thousands of babies who have been born because of the ministry of Hope Pregnancy Center.
