New Center, New Hope, in South Oklahoma City

First printed in the September 2007 Legacy
A new building for the Hope Pregnancy Center - South, at 1624 SW 82nd Street in Oklahoma City was dedicated on Sunday, September 9, 2007.

The 3,300-square-foot building was a gift from a longtime donor to Hope Pregnancy Centers.

A grant from Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound Program paid for a large portion of the new ultrasound machine at the Center.  A gift from the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma also helped with the purchase of the machine and the training staff to operate it.

The machine has enabled Hope Pregnancy Centers in north and south Oklahoma City to greatly expand their programs.

Candy Hines, Director of HPC-South and State Director of Hope Pregnancy Ministries, says, "Because of the machine at HPC-South, we have enlarged our medical staff to include one paid nurse and three volunteer nurses trained on the machine. We expect to see many more ultrasounds at our centers."

Many friends and donors toured the new building during the Open House and Dedication Service. Participating in the service were Tony Kennedy, president of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children; Dr. Anthony Jordan, Executive Director-Treasurer of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma; and Dr. Doug Melton, pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.

Candy Hines stated, "This new facility will enable Hope Pregnancy Center to serve more clients and fulfill its mission to help young men and women have hope and choose life in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy."
