Home Reached Capacity

Girl and boy-1920sThe Home reached capacity and had a waiting list in 1923.

After experiencing a mild economic depression from 1920-1922, the Home’s debts had risen to nearly $57,000. By January, 1923, the Oklahoma Baptist Orphans’ Home had cared for 325 children in its 20-year existence. That year alone, the Home served 132 children, the largest number at one given time.
