Dormitories for Girls and Boys

Dormitories for girls and boys were erected in 1918. There were 75 children living at the Home.

The boys’ dormitory featured a shop in the basement for manual training. The first and second stories had rooms for 44 boys, one house matron, and a bath.

The girls’ dormitory also housed the dining room where all the children ate their meals. A poultry yard was added, which was designed to interest the girls in raising chickens. On the acreage, there were 21 head of cattle, two horses, and an orchard.
