Sylvia MarshSylvia Marsh

Sylvia Marsh, a long-time resident of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, is known and loved by many in her church and community. She has been involved with ministering to others through distribution of Bible study materials, delivering Meals on Wheels, and other community projects.  In the past she has made gifts of pecans that she picked and shelled for her loved ones.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling before he passed away in February of 1990.

She remains active and involved in her church, First Baptist, Sallisaw, with the children’s ministry and the women’s ministry. She is a long-time friend of the children of OBHC and has been active in promoting OBHC in her church. She also is an outspoken advocate for children in her community.

Mrs. Marsh developed an interest in coin collecting and collected coins over a number of years. She recently gave her coin collection to OBHC because of her love for children. She has established a number of gift annuities through The Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma.

Sylvia’s impact on children, and OBHC’s ministry to children, is immeasurable and will be felt for any years to come. It is our privilege to honor this delightful lady who is truly the epitome of a cheerful giver. Her giving history and her love for children qualify her for nomination for membership in the Gladys Smith Society.

A passage of scripture that describes Sylvia Marsh is found in Acts 9:36, Now there was at Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.  12-02-05
