George and Rachael Blevins (left) of Bartlesville, and Fred and Lola Hambrick (right) of Norman were inducted into membership of the Gladys Smith Society at the December 2 meeting of the Board of Trustees for Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. Rachael and Lola are sisters and alumni of the Baptist Children’s Home in Oklahoma City. The Blevins and Hambricks are longtime supporters and promoters of OBHC. Lola helped develop the Children’s Hope ministry at the Oklahoma City campus and served as its coordinator in 2007.  Rachael has shared her testimony at events across the state as an ambassador for OBHC.

The Gladys Smith Society was created in 1999 to honor individuals who make outstanding contributions to the ministry of OBHC. The society is named in honor of Gladys Smith, the first child taken into the Baptist Orphan’s Home in 1903.
