Audrey Rae BolingAudrey Rae Boling

A generous estate gift from Audrey Rae Boling, a retired school teacher from Vinita, will help with the construction of a new cottage at the Baptist Children’s Home in Owasso.

Mrs. Boling, a member of First Baptist Church, Vinita, worked with children in Sunday school for many years and taught in public schools for 44 years. She passed away in May 2012, just three days short of her 99th birthday. Besides helping provide a new state-of-the art cottage, her gift will also help with other needs of the children on campus.

Audrey Rae (Muncy) Boling was married in May 1941 to Louis Dupree who preceded her in death in September 1943. She married Cecil Boling in December 1949. They enjoyed more than 48 years of marriage until his death in 1998. Mrs. Boling taught in the rural schools of Craig County, including Bluebell, Shannahan, and Kelso. She taught in the Vinita School System for 36 years.

The new cottage at the Baptist Children’s Home in Owasso will provide a home for eight children, an apartment for houseparents, and an apartment for associate houseparents. This will be the first new cottage constructed at the Owasso campus in more than 35 years. The staff and children at the Baptist Children’s Home in Owasso are thankful to Mrs. Boling for this generous estate gift.

This membership is the highest award given by OBHC to say “thank you” to people who make an outstanding effort on behalf of at-risk children in Oklahoma through the ministry of OBHC.
