A Journey of Hope
During my very first visit and every visit afterwards, Hope welcomed me with open arms. They took away my feelings of loneliness, comforted me and told me all the information I needed to know about my pregnancy. They even said a prayer for me and gave me a welcome bag filled with some items I would need during a pregnancy. Then they scheduled me for an ultrasound and told me about their parenting classes.
The ultrasound was amazing. Seeing the blessing that was growing inside of me made me completely speechless and gave me the confirmation I needed. I knew I could do this. Hope really gave me hope, pun intended! They took my terrified and lost feelings away. They took all my bad thoughts away. I was able to breathe again without my chest feeling tight and caved in. Hope was everything I wanted and needed.
When I found out about the pregnancy, my faith was struggling. However, once I got connected with Hope, they helped my faith by directing me back to God. They prayed over me the first day I went there. I’m most grateful for that. Now, I'm back in church regularly. When I started going to the pregnancy and parenting classes at Hope, I grew in my faith even more. I wasn't alone. Not only did I have my family and Hope but, most importantly, I had God by my side.
I graduated from Hope about a month ago. When I got into the car with my baby girl Kehlan that day, I was a complete crybaby. Hope helped me find myself when I was lost and thought my life was over. Now, I'm loving being a mother, and I'm learning to love myself more every single day! I’m not the same person I was when I walked in to Hope two years ago. The growth has been incredible, and I’m beyond proud of the person I am becoming. So, I thank Hope for their guidance and love. I thank them for their faith and for believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.
I love this program so much that one day I want to volunteer here. The work you do as friends of Hope is beyond amazing, and I'm forever grateful for your service. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for giving me Hope!” – Kayshe’ Houser
