10 Acre Challenge
“Grow. Give. Challenge.”
The concept behind the 10 Acre challenge came from local farmers who desire to help the children at OBHC, but don’t always have cash flow to donate but can find extra grain to share.
The 10 Acre Challenge allows farmers to donate a portion of their crop production to help with the needs on OBHC campuses.
HOW IT WORKS
1. GROW: Sow your seed and say your prayers. Let God do the rest.
2. GIVE: Donate a portion of what you are blessed with to children and families at OBHC. It doesn’t matter what the crop is or how much it produces per acre – everything helps.
Some farmers choose to give 10 acres worth of crop production. This can be donated through your local co-op. Once donated, contact Rick Choate at rchoate@obhc.org or (580) 224-7094 to make arrangements from there. OBHC will issue gift-in-kind donation receipts to the farmers for the amount of grain donated. Grain donated to OBHC is sold and used to meet the daily needs of the children in care.
3. CHALLENGE: Challenge fellow farmers to do the same. Together, the impact of your gifts will help children and families in a big way.
OTHER WAYS TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE
While donating 10 acres of crop production is a special way to help children and families, any gift or amount is welcome. Other ways to give include: cash, check, online credit card donation, income from oil/gas or wind energy contracts, property, equipment, etc. Do you have something else in mind? Contact Rick to help coordinate your donation.
