Back-to-School Style Shows Huge Success

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC) hosted all three of its annual Back-to-School Style Shows in August, all receiving a great response and support. The purpose of the back-to-school events is to create awareness and support for OBHC children and families. With the money raised, a special fund is set up to provide clothing and other basic needs.

Owasso Style Show Baptist Children's Home, Owasso celebrated the 20th anniversary of their Style Show & Brunch on Saturday, August 5, at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa. More than 1,400 people attended the mid-morning event. Attendees got to be part of a silent auction, brunch and an hour-long style show that featured children beaming with excitement as they modeled their favorite outfit for school or church on the runway. Afterwards, Donna Brooks, OBHC development representative and head of the event planning, said, “For twenty years, people have been faithful in supporting this event, we are so grateful for them and all the others that have come alongside us to provide for the children and the ministries of OBHC.”

Through these style shows, OBHC is able to provide children and families currently in our care with basic necessities like clothes, shoes and backpacks for the school year. It also provides those same needs to new students who come to live at the four campuses throughout the year. Because of the faithful support of donors, the lives of children and young families are positively impacted. Thank you to all who donated at this year's events. Your support is greatly appreciated!
