The purpose of the Oklahoma City/Boys Ranch Town Back-to-School Dinner Event is to create awareness for Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children and the children in care. Our first style show was held in 2000 at Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Over the years, it has grown and has more than 1,100 in attendance every year. With the money raised, a special fund is set up to provide yearly clothing and other basic needs for the children at the campuses located in Oklahoma City and Edmond. This event creates revenue through individual sponsorships, business sponsorships, reserved tables and group fundraising through our goal sheets program.
Our theme this year is “Let’s Do Something” and will be held on Saturday, August 7, at the Embassy Suites in Norman. During the event, men and women will be able to participate in the silent auction starting at 4:00 p.m., enjoy a fabulous meal at 5:30 p.m. and be entertained by our witty emcee, Ed Murray, as we watch awesome children beam with excitement, modeling their favorite outfit for school or church.
