Happy Birthday, Hope! Celebrating 30 Years of Hope

Did you know the Lord has provided more than 130,000 client visits to Hope since the doors first opened in Tulsa and North OKC in 1986?

Can you imagine how many birthdays have been celebrated because of God’s work at Hope?

In 1985 the Lord burdened the heart of Dr. Anthony Jordan, Executive Director/Treasurer of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, to get involved in helping those who were considering abortion.

Dr. Jordan said, “God began to stir in my heart… Young women in crisis don’t need guilt thrown on them, they need us to help them find a place of forgiveness and mercy in their lives and show them there is a better way.”

The Lord put together a team of church leaders and lay people, and in April 1986, Hope Pregnancy Center (then Crisis Pregnancy Center), opened locations in Tulsa and North Oklahoma City.

In the thirty years since, the Lord has offered hope through 130,139 client visits. Countless children, and now their children, are celebrating birthdays each year because of the faithfulness of God’s people to answer His call to get involved – to pray, serve and give.

Today there are four centers, with a fifth opening soon in Edmond. Clients receive pregnancy tests, pregnancy option education, ultrasounds and support programs. All services are free and confidential.

Celebrating Life

Not only are thousands of our clients’ babies celebrating birthdays each year, but many are also celebrating spiritual birthdays. Our records reflect 1,929 clients have accepted Jesus as their Savior at Hope.

To celebrate 30 Years of Hope, we are posting 30 Days of Hope on our Facebook page Partners for Hope. Click here to like our page and join us in celebrating the lives our Lord has touched and saved!
