In the Name of Jesus

Sand bagging at Cardinal CoveIn the Name of Jesus (INOJ) projects are vital to the character development of the residents at Baptist Home for Girls. These projects are done by the girls for others with no expectation or acceptance of payment. In the Name of Jesus projects can consist of anything that is selflessly done; baking cookies for the campus, baking for and visiting the residents at the retirement center, volunteering at a soup kitchen for the needy, or ministering on mission trips. One year, during a period of heavy rain around Lake Texoma, the girls of Baptist Home for Girls helped bag sand and place them so that the houses at nearby Cardinal Cove would be protected from the rising water. Baptist Home for Girls has also had girls participate in mission projects in Chicago and Washington State.

Work during the Chicago mission tripBaptist Home for Girls believes that the development of a servant's heart is a very important part of reflecting Christ's love for others. The INOJ program allows Baptist Home for Girls to teach this important character trait. The satisfaction of seeing a thankful smile in exchange for a plate of food, for conversation, or for a days hard work to save a stranger's home helps the girls grow and mature.

If you have any questions about the In the Name of Jesus program or have an idea for a project please email Stephen Wiese or call the campus office at 580-564-2218.
