The 2022 Cups of Kindness Event was a wonderful success! We were blessed with beautiful weather at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club on Saturday, April 2. Attendees enjoyed special music by Marcia Ramirez and a message from LeeAnn Kirkindoll.

Thanks to a record membership of 287 women, Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC) was greatly blessed with $287,000 in grants that will benefit all areas of the ministry.

Because of the generosity and compassion of these women the following 2022 grants were awarded $50,000.

1. Boys Ranch Town, Edmond will purchase a feed truck with four-wheel drive and dual wheels for driving in pastures during winter months. It also has a flat bed with hydraulic arms that can lift and set a fifteen-hundred-pound bale of hay up on the bed and carry a second bale. The arms can unroll a bale of hay in very bad weather. In addition, the truck will have a five-hundred-pound cake box which will hold cubed feed to distribute to the cows daily. The campus will also replace several cottage garage doors.
2. Baptist Children’s Home, Owasso will purchase new windows for the campus apartments and gym and install a carport, a pool canopy and flooring in the Boling Cottage. The carport will make sure the Children’s Hope moms will have a safe, covered area while getting in and out of vehicles during inclement weather, as well as keeping the vehicles cooler while parked in the extreme heat of summertime. The pool canopy will provide much needed shade and more opportunities for play and fun. The Boling Cottage has been home to many young girls over the past seven years. New flooring will provide a clean and refreshed environment for the current students and all new students for many years to come.
3. Baptist Homes for Girls, Madill will purchase lawn equipment including riding mowers, battery-powered trimmers and protective equipment for the girls. Every summer Baptist Home for Girls has about twenty-five acres of mowing every week at minimum. Housedads are involved in mowing with the campus riding lawn mowers, but there is a hard-working team of girls that enjoy helping their housefathers with the giant task. The lawn equipment will help the girls be more efficient with their time, energy and be satisfied in the fruit of their labors.
4. OBHC Residential Campuses will each receive $12,500 to be used for summer camps, field trips, picnics and other summer activities at the discretion of each administrator for the residents on campus.
5. OBHC received a $50,000 grant to support all ministries.
6. Hope Pregnancy Centers facilitates a Forgiven & Set Free 12-week Bible study to help women receive God’s healing and forgiveness. They also host an annual two-day retreat for those that have completed the Bible study. The grant will provide the retreat for the next three years at no cost to participants.
