New Baptist Children’s Home in Oklahoma City

The new campus of the Baptist Children’s Home, Oklahoma City, was completed in 1983.


Child Care Department Combined into Special Care Ministries

A new organization chart approved by the directors and combines the child care department and the retirement centers and chaplain department into Special Care Ministries relating to the executive director's office.


Family Care Ministries

Baptist Retirement Centers and the Department of Child Care were blended.

Crisis Pregnancy Center

On April 27, 1986 the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Oklahoma City was dedicated. Soon after, Baptists in Tulsa assisted the Convention in opening a center there.

Ernestine Brown

Ernestine Brown left her family and began a personal journey toward hope and peace in December, 1991, at the age of 13.


Dedication of Monument

In October 1988, a significant milestone was reached which was an experience with special meaning for former residents and employees of the Baptist Children's Home in Oklahoma City.
