Joan Mahaney

June 18, 1924 - December 27, 2014


Mary Joan Mahaney was called to her heavenly home December 27th, 2014, with her two children, Everett Mahaney and Una Jo Mahaney by her side.

Joan was born June 18, 1924 in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Una Pearl and Shirley Eli McBurnett. She married Lewis Everett Mahaney, Jr. on November 7, 1945 in Long Beach, California, while he was in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. In 1957, they moved to Guymon, Oklahoma to run movie theaters and raise their children. Joan was a member of First Baptist Church of Guymon. She loved young people, teaching pre-school children and teens, teaching them the importance of God as a guidance of life, for over 20 years.

Joan is survived by her son, Everett Mahaney and wife, Joleen of Jenks, OK; daughter, Una Jo Mahaney of Tulsa, OK; two grandson, Greg Mahaney and his wife, Mindy of Bristow, OK; Garrett Mahaney and his wife, Susan, of Jenks, OK; four cherished great grandchildren, Hayden and Grant Mahaney of Bristow; Kate and Jake Mahaney of Jenks.
