Walmart Foundation Gives Grant to OBHC
Holly Luke, Director of Operations for Walmart in Oklahoma, and Senator Todd Lamb, representing district 47, presented a $5,000 check from the Walmart Foundation to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children on January 7. Tony Kennedy, president of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, and Dr. Anthony Jordan, executive director-treasurer of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, accepted the check and expressed appreciation on behalf of the children who will benefit from the gift.
Mrs. Luke commented, “At Walmart, we know we can make the greatest impact on our communities by supporting causes that are important to our customers right in their own neighborhoods. In working with Senator Lamb, we identified the great work that Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children does and we are proud to be here today to recognize their efforts of providing hope and homes for children affected by abuse, abandonment, neglect, or poverty in Oklahoma.”
Senator Lamb stated, “Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children is vital to effectively investing in the lives of Oklahoma’s next generation. They provide a home as well as support, care, and love to those who need it most. The way OBHC intersects with lives makes a positive, eternal impact on the children of our state, and partnering with a company like Walmart to bring about quality change is an honor.”
